I tell some of you to do this on occasion, but as with everything, I should take my own advice… Finding real ways to immerse in and interact with the ultra running community is the most performance-enhancing option I know.

I used to look up to those that had never dropped a race. At a certain point, I dismissed that as a silly standard to set and still largely do. There are very very good reasons to drop and I’m not here to suggest when is/isn’t an appropriate time to do so. But…
