Our Coaching Team

TYLER FOX

Tyler was born and raised in Colorado spending most weekends at his family’s mountain getaway in Summit County during his early years. His parents convinced him if he fell behind on family hikes, he’d be eaten by a mountain lion (a questionable strategy, but an effective one for early aerobic development). He competed in big mountain ski competitions in high school and found a love for rock climbing after a ski accident left him with a badly broken leg. Rock climbing shaped most of his decisions for the following 6 years, landing him at CU Boulder where he graduated with distinction in Integrative Physiology.

Tyler’s journey with running didn’t start until his senior year, where he found he could balance his studies with mini-adventures on the trails near campus. He soon dove into running, competing his first 100 mile race the fall after he graduated. He started to take training more seriously, placing high at local races and even winning the Never Summer 100k in his second year of ultrarunning. Since then, Tyler has continued to amass strong race results. Highlights include winning the Bear 100 and Bighorn 100, and placing second at the Bandera 100k, which earned him a Golden Ticket for the Western States 100.

Tyler has been coaching full time since 2018 and has experience with athletes of all abilities and interests. He has coached runners of all abilities and interests, from winners of by-UTMB events to those running their first 5k. As a coach, Tyler wants all of his athletes to be on the starting line ready for their best possible race. But more importantly, he strives for them to also be healthy and loving the process of running, training, and competing.

Tyler lives with his wife, Ellie, and his daughter, Sally, in Loveland, CO.

JACKSON BRILL

Growing up in Idaho, Jackson immersed himself in the outdoors, spending his childhood running, skiing, backpacking, and cycling in the surrounding mountains. After competing in high school cross-country and track, he transitioned to trail/ultra running upon starting at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He quickly found success, winning races like The Rut 50k and Quadrock 25mi, and became a sponsored athlete by age 20. At CU-Boulder, Jackson studied under renowned biomechanist Dr. Rodger Kram, publishing research on uphill walk-run gait transition—a topic he explored in both his Undergraduate Honors and Master's theses. He also assisted in groundbreaking research on road-running "super-shoes".

Since 2015, Jackson has coached youth running groups and has been a dedicated online private coach since 2018. He works with athletes across a range of events, from road 5ks to trail 200-milers. Jackson still races periodically, primarily in steep, technical events. In 2023, he placed second at the US Trail Marathon Championships, earning a spot on Team USA for the Trail and Mountain Running World Championships in Austria, where he finished 30th. He has also taken on Fastest Known Time (FKT) challenges that involve off-trail navigation and mountaineering.
